Tom Baratz
Industry Consultant
As an industry consultant for Lyra's Custom Research Group, Tom Baratz supports the proposal and execution of a range of custom research projects. Mr. Baratz has industry experience in the areas of printing and Web technologies gained through his work with technology vendors, as an IT end user, and as a research consultant. Most recently, he operated an independent consultancy, Lighthouse Consulting, where he executed market research projects for clients such as Dow Jones, Fidelity, HP, Lexmark, Savatar, and Xerox.
Mr. Baratz is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology's School of Printing where he studied conventional printing, color sciences, and electronic publishing. In the 1980s, he implemented electronic publishing systems for Atex. His technical background includes a decade of work in software and applications engineering for QMS and Imagen. Mr. Baratz has also worked at Fidelity Investments in an advanced technology group where he evaluated new print-related technologies and applications. He serves as adjunct faculty at Lasell College, teaching computer courses in Office 2003 and Web publishing using DreamWeaverMX.
