Jim Lyons
Senior Editor, The Hard Copy Observer
Mr. Lyons became senior editor for Lyra's industry-leading newsletter, The Hard Copy Observer, in March 2011. As senior editor, he focuses on industry hot topics such as cloud/mobile printing and managed print services. Prior to becoming senior editor he had been a regular contributor of news and analysis to the publication, as well as the author of a monthly column, "Observations."
In addition to his role at Lyra, Mr. Lyons also independently blogs (www.jimlyonsobservations.blogspot.com) and tweets (@jflyons) on developments in the printer industry. He is also a faculty member at the University of Phoenix, where he teaches marketing and economics for the school's business program. From 1981 to 2005, Mr. Lyons was employed at Hewlett-Packard where, starting in 1986, he worked in a variety of marketing and management positions in the company's LaserJet and Imaging and Printing business units.
